Pastoral Care Ministry

The mission of the Pastoral Care Ministry is to provide a pastoral presence and pastoral counseling and listening ministry to those who may be experiencing turmoil, conflict, or grief within their own life. This ministry is designed for a “one on one” encounter.

Pastoral care denotes helping and caring for others within the church or wider community. Thus pastoral care in this sense includes listening, caring, supporting, and help in the healing process of the one who is partaking of this ministry.

Jim Laemmle, Chaplain of St. John Paul II and member of the Pastoral Care Team at St. John Paul II, provides this ministry. Jim is certified in Chaplaincy by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. He also is certified as a BeFriender Trainer and has a Master’s Degree in Spirituality from Bellarmine University.
